Anthony Russo explained the return of the former Captain America.
Chris Evans, famous for his role as Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, will return to the image of Steve Rogers in the crossover "Avengers: Doctor Doom."
Explaining the decision to bring back the actor, Anthony Russo said in an interview with Empire magazine:
"We have a special affection for this character. We just don't see this story without him in a central role. He occupies a special place among the actors and will continue to keep it."
This does not mean that Rogers will become the main character of the film, but his influence on the development of the plot will be significant. According to last year's leaks, Steve may appear not as Captain America, but as Nomad and use Mjolnir instead of his usual shield.
The premiere of "Avengers: Doctor Doom" is scheduled for December 18, 2026.
