Nintendo to raise the price of Switch 2 in 2026.

According to a recent Bloomberg report, Sony Group Corp. is actively considering postponing the release of the next PlayStation 6 console to 2028 or even 2029. This was reported by sources familiar with the company's plans. The previously expected launch in 2027 is now in question due to a shortage of chips, mainly intended for data centers.

This is not the first rumor about the PS6 delay, but recent publications indicate that the scenario has become quite real. Other manufacturers are experiencing similar difficulties. Nintendo, according to the same sources, is considering raising the price of the Nintendo Switch 2 as early as 2026. In November, Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa warned that price stability depends on external factors such as tariffs or unexpected events.

It is possible that the delays will also affect the next Xbox. Although it is planned for 2027 — and this is in the «most optimistic scenario». The expensive APU Magnus (more expensive than the Sony chip) could make the console commercially unsuccessful at a high price.
