Valve's Steam Deck portable gaming PC is currently unavailable for purchase in several key regions. On the official Steam store page in the US, all three versions of the device — 256 GB LCD (already discontinued), 512 GB OLED, and 1 TB OLED — are displayed with an "Out of stock" status. Buyers can only add the gadget to their wishlist.
The issue has affected not only the American market: a similar situation is observed in some Asian countries through the distributor Komodo (Japan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan). At the same time, stocks are still maintained in Europe (including the UK).
Valve has not yet issued an official statement regarding the shortage. However, many gamers and analysts attribute the shortage to the ongoing global crisis in the supply of RAM and storage devices, caused by the AI boom and the construction of data centers. Earlier in February 2026, the company itself warned that a sharp increase in prices for memory and storage components forced them to postpone the exact timing and cost of launching new devices — Steam Machine (mini-PC) and Steam Frame (VR headset), although the release is still planned for the first half of 2026.
