On February 17, the second season of Battlefield 6 will officially begin on all platforms. Previously, its launch was delayed by about a month, which caused a wave of discontent among the community. Now producer Phil Girette explained the reasons for the delay and assured that this situation would not happen again.
In an interview with Gamereactor, Girette said that after the release, the game required a significant amount of resources and time. According to him, the team was satisfied with the start of the project, especially considering that the series had previously had problems with launches.
We released Battlefield 6, and although we don't have the best reputation when it comes to releases, this time everything went pretty smoothly. But such a launch requires tremendous effort. We looked at the content planned for the second season and decided to give it a little more time to refine it so that everything meets players' expectations.
He also emphasized that season planning is not only about content development, but also about marketing, coordinating timelines, and influencing future updates. According to Girette, within the unified structure of Battlefield Studios, which includes DICE, Ripple Effect Studios, Criterion Games and Motive Studio, additional measures have been taken. They should ensure that future seasons are released on time — immediately after the completion of the previous ones.
