Arc Raiders Authors Admit Bosses Weren't Ready for Player Behavior - Entire Server Unite Against Them

Players in Arc Raiders started behaving differently than the developers expected. They anticipated some cooperation, but not to this extent.

As a result, the bosses in the game were simply not ready to face an entire server. Design Director Virgil Watkins from Embark Studios explained the initial vision:

While [Queens and Matriarchs] are huge and deadly, they are not designed for the entire server to unite against them and receive equal rewards. The idea is that one or a couple of experienced squads should fight them, while fending off other players.

Currently, on some Arc Raiders servers, a huge boss can be killed in a few minutes, and as a result, those who connect 20 minutes before the end of the raid find only an empty space - the boss is destroyed, and all the loot has already been collected:

Part of this is definitely our fault... I think we gave players abilities that were too effective, which allowed them to deal with these creatures too early. We were tuning them more for what I would call "mid-tier gear." The problem is that when a boss dies too quickly, players hardly fight each other - and there simply isn't enough loot for everyone.

This problem cannot be solved by simply tweaking the numbers. According to the developers' idea, Arc Raiders battles should encourage different play styles: someone can wait for the moment to quietly appropriate someone else's loot and hide; some join the battle in the final stage, when others are exhausted and out of ammo; and some try to unite or attack other players to loot their corpses.
