Recently, an exploit was discovered in Arc Raiders that allowed items to be duplicated. Embark Studios quickly fixed it and began punishing those who used it, as well as those who spread information about the bug.
However, the Arc Raiders community has raised concerns about the punishment system: while some players were sent DMCA strikes for videos about the error and were banned, some got off with a light warning.
Questions arose about the well-known streamer TheBurntPeanut with 1.9 million subscribers on Twitch. He was among those who demonstrated the bug during a broadcast to 100,000+ viewers, but in the end received a warning letter.
Users noted that this lenient punishment for TheBurntPeanut is poorly correlated with the previous statement from the Arc Raiders developers that measures would be taken "depending on the severity of the violations."
He got a warning, and the rest — those who don't have a bunch of viewers — just had their credits taken away. I've never been so angry at game developers.
