One Reddit user claimed to have "used up all his luck for the year ahead" after an unexpected find in a used motherboard he purchased.
According to him, he spotted an MSI PRO Z690-A WiFi motherboard for just $50 on an online marketplace. The deal already seemed profitable, but the buyer's attention was drawn to the installed M.2 heatsinks. After contacting the seller, he realized that the seller had little knowledge of computer hardware — and probably didn't even suspect that there might be solid-state drives under the heatsinks.
After the purchase, it turned out that along with the board, the new owner received four NVMe SSDs at once:
- 2× WD Black SN850X with 4 TB each — approximately $600 each
- 1× Corsair MP600 with 2 TB — about $300
- 1× Intel 670p with 2 TB — approximately $270–280
The total market value of the drives alone exceeds $1.7 thousand. And all this — for $50 together with the motherboard.
