The new film in the "Predator" universe has shown record results on streaming.
The film "Predator: Planet of Death" has become Hulu's largest film premiere in the last four years. In the first five days after its release on the platform, the film garnered nearly 9 million views worldwide and surpassed previous releases of the service, including "Prey," which began the franchise's revival.
For the series, this is already the second notable success in a row under the direction of Dan Trachtenberg. In 2022, "Prey" was released directly on streaming and, at the time of its premiere, became the most-watched film in Hulu's history. Now, "Planet of Death" has repeated the result and updated the record among the platform's film releases in recent years.
Prior to its digital release, the film had already proven itself at the box office. In November 2025, the film debuted with $80 million worldwide, of which $40 million came from North America. Total collections reached $184.5 million, making "Planet of Death" the highest-grossing film in the franchise. At the same time, the budget is estimated at approximately $105 million, so the final financial picture largely depends on streaming performance and related sales.
Meanwhile, Dan Trachtenberg is already discussing the further development of the universe. Despite an exclusive agreement with Paramount, under which the studio receives priority rights to his projects for three years, the "Predator" franchise remains one of the director's key focuses.
