Sarah Bond Confirmed That the New Xbox Is Already in an Advanced Stage of Development

After announcing her departure as head of Xbox, Sarah Bond shared a letter to the team, stating that "our next console is already at an advanced stage." She noted that she is leaving the company to take her "next personal and professional step," despite being considered Phil Spencer's successor.

Bond highlighted the achievements of her more than eight years of work, noting the growth of gaming on PC and in the cloud, as well as the multi-platform strategy that allowed Xbox to reach different devices and players around the world.

The development of the new console confirms that the change in leadership will not affect plans for the next generation of Xbox.

She recalled the strategic moment in 2022 with the acquisition of Activision Blizzard, which became a turning point for the transformation of Xbox. Bond will remain a special advisor to the new head, Ashim Sharma, helping to ensure a smooth transition. Matt Booty has been promoted from head of Xbox Game Studios to Chief Content Officer.

According to Bond, the industry is undergoing a technological transformation, and the new team will usher in the next stage of development, preserving already launched projects and promoting the future console.
