A fighting game fan managed to find a way to keep playing.

A Tekken 8 fan going by the nickname Guitarfoxx recently shared how she managed to reach one of the highest ranks in the fighting game.

It took her two and a half years to earn the "Tekken God" rank, and she played Asuka. What makes this achievement especially remarkable is that Guitarfoxx is a blind gamer:

I was born with glaucoma and have faced many complications because of it. Around the time the game was released, I completely lost my right eye. In my left eye, I have only very limited, blurry, "tunnel" vision left, and that is what I now live and play with. Because of this, it is hard for me to distinguish certain movements, as well as understand my position relative to the wall in some arenas.

Guitarfoxx can punish an opponent only if she reads their actions in advance, since she cannot react to visual cues.

She decided to play to her strengths: she practiced performing Asuka's highest-damage combos (she had played her for many years in previous installments); learned to understand when she needed to move toward the wall; and mastered different strategies.

I focused on getting better at reading people's habits and adapting to them more quickly. I have a passive playstyle, which does not work well with the current meta, and I still have a lot to learn. I do not know how far I will be able to go, but I have no intention of giving up.
