Warner Bros. has released a new trailer for "Mortal Kombat 2" — the sequel to the reboot of the iconic fighting franchise's film adaptations.
The plot of the sequel revolves around the decisive battle of Earthrealm's champions, joined by Johnny Cage. They must stop Shao Kahn and end his reign, which threatens the very existence of Earthrealm.
Returning to their roles are Josh Lawson (Kano), Lewis Tan (Cole Young), Jessica McNamee (Sonya Blade), Ludi Lin (Liu Kang), Mehcad Brooks (Jax), Tadanobu Asano (Raiden), Chin Han (Shang Tsung), and Hiroyuki Sanada (Scorpion). Newcomers include Karl Urban (Johnny Cage), Adeline Rudolph (Kitana), Tati Gabrielle (Jade), and Damon Herriman (Quan Chi).
Simon McQuoid returns as director, with Jeremy Slater writing the screenplay.
The international release of "Mortal Kombat 2" begins on May 6, 2026 — two days earlier than in North America.
