Amazon showed the first still from the upcoming God of War adaptation

Filming for the first season has already begun, and the show will premiere on Prime Video.

The first still from the upcoming God of War adaptation has appeared online, which Amazon is producing together with Sony Pictures Television and its PlayStation Productions division.

The series script will focus on the events of the franchise's Norse saga — in particular, the 2018 reboot, where an aged Kratos sets out on a dangerous journey together with his son Atreus.

Kratos will be played by Ryan Hurst ("Sons of Anarchy"), Callum Vinson will play Atreus, and Olafur Darri Olafsson will portray Thor. The cast also includes Teresa Palmer (Sif), Mandy Patinkin (Odin), and Ed Skrein (Baldur).

The series premiere date is still unknown.
