Some players suspected that Bungie was afraid of talk about Embark Studios' hit.
The Marathon playtest recently started, and users noticed that they cannot mention another extraction project, Arc Raiders, in the text chat.
Rumors about this specific censorship quickly spread through social networks, and Bungie studio began to be ridiculed.
Soon, the creators of Marathon reacted to this and published a screenshot of the chat, which reads: "Arc Raiders is an amazing game" (i.e., the "censorship" error has been fixed).
Marathon is scheduled for release on March 5, 2026. The playtest pleasantly surprised some players, and there is an opinion that the Bungie project will not become "Concord 2.0", but will attract a certain audience.
