The Tokyo Xtreme Racer series, familiar to fans of PS2 and Dreamcast, has returned. After a successful release on PC, the game has made its way to PS5.
Previously, the project from Genki studio was released on Steam and received 94% based on over 14,000 reviews. The races are inspired by the Wangan Midnight manga and anime.
The first reviews of the console version have already been published. Reviewers praise the "PS2 energy" and the lengthy campaign with a large amount of unlockable content. PushSquare gave the game a 7/10, noting that the tracks are repeated too often and the drifting is poorly implemented. Traxxion also rated the project at 7/10, praising the graphics and performance on PS5 – slight animation stutters only occur during autosaves.
