Not only the quality of graphics is improving, but also the sound.
1C Game Studios continues to talk about "Korea. IL-2 Series". They recently released a diary dedicated to shooting effects.
When working on them, the developers were looking for a balance between plausibility and technical limitations, since "all this should work well on a computer available to the player":
The visual effects of aircraft fire have come a long creative search path. Their final implementation is the third in a row. It was quite difficult to find the right image of the effects and their balance with performance: it is necessary to take into account both plausibility and technical limitations. After all, in a battle in the sky of Korea, about 200 aircraft can fire at the same time, each of which has far from a single barrel, not to mention ground equipment.
The developers of "Korea. IL-2 Series" will present players with a more plausible view of the effects. This became possible thanks to the refinement of the graphic effects system:
A new system of texture animation of particles, a new system of lighting effects, the use of new tools and artistic approaches for us - look at the result. The scale, dynamics, shapes and textures of the flashes of shots, some features of physical processes - all this is reproduced with the utmost care and quality possible at this technological stage.
In addition, the sound of shooting has undergone several iterations:
Shooting when viewed from the cockpit of an aircraft sounds fundamentally different than from the outside - the shots themselves are muffled, there are no "peals" and echoes, at the same time there are overtones of vibrations of the aircraft structure. The influence of the power (caliber) of the gun on the audible sound of shooting in the cockpit is completely different than on the external one. Even the location of guns and machine guns matters - this factor is also taken into account.
The external sound was also reworked, the developers used new data:
The influence of distance on the sound of shooting has become even more significant. Browning M2 and M3, ShKAS, UB, ShVAK, VYA-23, NS-23, NR-23, N-37 - all the "barrels" of the "Korea" aircraft have a unique recognizable sound.
