Sega is preparing a successor to Sonic Frontiers - insider

The next Sonic Frontiers may be announced in 2026. Rumor has it that Sega has been working on a successor to the latest full-fledged Sonic for more than four years.

The hero's new adventures may be shown at summer or winter gaming events such as Summer Game Fest, Opening Night Live, or The Game Awards.

Insider Nate the Hate clarified that there is no exact release date yet. If the game is released in 2027, it will once again face Mario, as happened with Sonic Superstars, losing to Super Mario Bros. Wonder in sales.

Sonic remains an important franchise for Sega, and the company hopes that the new project will help maintain popularity and, possibly, set new sales records. There is no official information about the platform, date, and features of the game yet.
