Fans of the series know it from Black Ops 4.
The Blackout mode from Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, which became the starting point for the appearance of the battle royale in the series, is returning. Next week, Call of Duty: Warzone will feature a new Black Ops Royale mode — and the developers call it "an experience inspired by the first Call of Duty battle royale".
According to the official description, this is "the original battle royale in the spirit of Blackout without custom builds, without the Gulag, and without trading stations". Players will have to land on the map, collect equipment for survival, upgrade weapons, master new mechanics, and try to survive 24 enemy squads on the Avalon map.
At the same time, the developers emphasize that this is not a remake of Blackout. The new mode is described as "a unique experience that pays tribute to the key elements of Blackout, while maintaining the dynamics of matches familiar to Warzone players".
At the start, only the four-person squad format will be available — a total of 25 teams in each match. In the event of death, players will be able to instantly return to battle if they have a special revival token, or be returned by allies through the revival tower.
The mode will be available on March 13.
