Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is releasing updates with new content and various additions. Some gamers consider it a game-service, but Saber Interactive has a different vision.
In a conversation with IGN, Saber's Chief Creative Officer Tim Willits explained that there is no suitable term to describe Space Marine 2 — "game-service" is not suitable in this case:
[...] Saber respects players, supports games with amazing free updates, as well as large paid add-ons. However, we don't squeeze every penny out of people. I think in our case we are talking about multiplayer games that are supported for a long time... I don't know if there is even a term for this.
Therefore, Willits does not want to call Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 a "game-service":
Because when you hear such a term, you immediately think about buying individual items. But we continue to support our games for as long as possible.
