Some players expect this installment of the franchise to set a new price bar for the industry.
While pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI have not opened, there is debate online about how much the new installment of the franchise will cost. Some speculate that it will go beyond the usual $60-70 for the basic version and cost $80-100.
Streamer xQc also shared his opinion, with his estimate being several times higher than the boldest ones — he estimates GTA VI at $800.
xQc explained his vision by saying that Rockstar offers a lot of content and high quality:
If you compare the product to current market standards — considering all the games and what you get for your money — [GTA VI] should cost $800. I know it will never cost that much, but by current industry standards, considering the amount of content and the quality you get — it's an $800 product. And that's not an "opinion"! I wish it was just a "point of view", but it's a fact.
Grand Theft Auto VI is expected to be released in November 2026.
