In the future, readers from Russia will receive the book "Attack of the Giants. Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft's Fight for the Player's Attention," which will help trace the chronicle of console wars and find out if there is a curse on video game adaptations.

The "Bombora" publishing house announced that it is finishing work on the book "Attack of the Giants. Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft's Fight for the Player's Attention" (The Ultimate History of Video Games, Volume 2) by Steven L. Kent, a writer and one of the leading experts in the history of the gaming industry.

Readers will find a large-scale chronicle of console wars, told through numerous interviews, comments and eyewitness accounts of that time. With the help of this book, which has already gone to typesetting, people will be able to find out:

  • How Nintendo found its current self and what the tamagotchi about dogs has to do with it;
  • Whether arcade machines are popular today;
  • How Microsoft almost started selling hug pillows in Japan (and why it changed its mind);
  • Who ultimately won the battle between PS3 and Xbox 360;
  • Whether there is a curse on video game adaptations and how comic book projects avoided it.

Unfortunately, the staff of "Bombora" have not yet announced how much such a publication will cost and when exactly this book will be released in Russia.
