Bungie has summarized the results of the Marathon open beta. During the test, users actively shared feedback. The developers managed to fix some of the identified problems directly during the open beta, while other issues will be studied and refined after launch.
After the end of the testing, the analytical company Alinea Analytics published a report on the most notable projects after Steam Next Fest. In terms of the number of additions to wishlists, Marathon took second place, losing to the PvE survival game in a pirate setting, Windrose.
In addition, according to analysts, by March 2, 2026, Marathon had already sold about 250,000 copies on Steam. At the same time, the involvement of players during Server Slam was ambiguous: on the second day of the test, a noticeable decline in activity was recorded, from which the project never recovered until the end of the event.
Nevertheless, the figure of around 250,000 copies before release looks impressive, and further dynamics will become clear after the official launch.
