New Warlock trailer as a bonus.
Blizzard Entertainment has unveiled a new season for Diablo IV called "Season of Slaughter." It launches on March 11 and will bring players a number of new mechanics, items, and events, including the ability to play as the iconic Butcher for the first time in the series' history.
The main feature of the season will be the Butcher transformation mechanic. Players will be able to take the form of this monster and use its unique abilities such as attacks, dashes, and a hook that can pull enemies towards them.
To activate this form, you need to participate in seasonal activities and complete special tasks. For killing enemies, players receive the "Fresh Meat" resource, which allows them to strengthen their character and unlock additional rewards.
The season will also add a Killstreak system, encouraging continuous killing sprees. The more enemies a player destroys in a row, the higher the series level — and the more bonuses he will receive.
A new category of equipment will appear in the game — "Blood Items." Their properties are enhanced depending on the level of the killstreak, which makes an aggressive style of play especially beneficial.
As part of the season, a crossover with DOOM: The Dark Ages will appear in the game. Players will be able to receive themed cosmetic items, including weapons and trophies, for participating in a special event.
Blizzard has also released a new gameplay trailer for the Warlock. The class will appear in the game on April 28, along with the release of the Lord of Hatred expansion.
