The first Slay the Spire gathered a large audience, but did not show record results on Steam and consoles. The game became a successful indie project and laid the foundation for a sequel. But now there is a real hype around the new "roguelike". After Mewgenics, this is already the second extremely successful release among independent games in 2026.
It was previously reported about 430 thousand simultaneous players, but in less than a day Slay the Spire 2 reached 526 thousand. Thanks to this, the game took 20th place among the most popular projects in Steam history.
The peak online was higher than that of the open beta of Battlefield 6, as well as Valheim and Terraria. But the game is still inferior to Path of Exile 2 and Hollow Knight: Silksong.
