The roguelike strategy game The King is Watching has surpassed 500,000 copies sold on Steam. This was announced by the project's creator, Semyon Guriy, who recently launched his own "Peeling Room" channel, where he now shares news about development and future plans.
According to the author, the main audience of the game consists of users from China. As the developer noted, "the concept is very relatable for them". At the same time, players from CIS countries accounted for about 8-9% of sales — which, according to Guriy, is "also not bad".
The developer thanked the audience and confirmed that a new free map, "Edge of Madness," will appear in the game in the near future — it will be released as soon as the "hype" around Slay the Spire 2 subsides. In addition, the paid DLC "Crowns of the Past" will be released in March. It will add three rulers with unique mechanics, abilities, and buildings to the game.
