"Voltron" is a live-action adaptation of the 1980s anime "Voltron: Defender of the Universe", directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber ("Red Notice").

The creators of the film have not yet revealed details, but it was previously reported that the story will begin with a tragedy. After the death of his mother, a teenager from Earth learns that she was one of the legendary Voltron pilots who defended the galaxy from the tyrant Zarkon. When the antagonist is released again, the young man has to take her place and defend the world.

The cast of the film includes Daniel Quinn-Toye, Rita Ora, Alba Baptista, Samson Kayo, Laura Gordon, Tim Griffin, and Nathan Jones. Henry Cavill will play King Altea, the father of the deceased girl and creator of the Voltron lions, and Sterling Brown will embody the image of the main antagonist.
