Japanese studio GPTRACK50 has unveiled a new trailer, details, and screenshots for the unusual action RPG Stupid Never Dies.

Stupid Never Dies is set in a world after the Great War, where humanity is on the brink of extinction and monsters have seized power. The main character is a timid zombie named Davy, who is at the very bottom of monster society and survives in an abandoned shopping center.

One day, he discovers a frozen girl named Julia in a freezer—and falls in love with her at first sight. From that moment on, Davy has a goal: to somehow bring Julia back to life and ask her out on a date.

A chance theft of unusual food endows the hero with strange and powerful abilities. Together with the eccentric Dr. Frank, who dreams of restoring humanity, and a group of dubious but charismatic allies, Davy sets off into a monster-filled dungeon.

Players will have to find out if this hapless zombie can return peace to the people, revive Julia, and perhaps find his first girlfriend.

The game features a system of various "styles" that allow you to change the hero's abilities. Among them:

  • Zombie Style — Davy's basic style
  • Werewolf Style — a fast style for furious attacks
  • Harpy Style — allows you to fly and attack from a distance
  • Golem Style — a powerful and stable style that scatters enemies
  • Vampire Style — controlling a flock of bats
  • Will-o’-the-Wisp Style — switching between the physical and astral worlds
  • Cyclops Style — powerful all-or-nothing attacks
  • Snow Fairy Style — freezing enemies and absorbing their power
  • Merfolk Style — attacks from under the ground, as if from water
  • Lich Style — summoning skeletons and controlling the power of death
  • Demon Style — controlling enemies with a whip and gravity

One of the key features will be the Body Hack system, which allows you to modify the hero's body. The zombie can install various technological improvements—weapons and modules for the left and right arms, head, and legs.

Studio GPTRACK50 is positioning Stupid Never Dies as a unique single-player action RPG with fast-paced gameplay, an unusual story, and experimental character development mechanics.
