Players have long wanted a Steam version of Minecraft.

Recently, the source code of Minecraft for PC, PlayStation consoles, and other platforms was leaked online. Enterprising individuals attempted to take advantage of this.

A project page titled Kogama appeared on Steam — players quickly realized that this was the leaked Minecraft Console Edition.

Subsequently, information about the appearance of the Kogama page on Steam went viral in the community and attracted attention. It was soon removed from the Valve store.

The developers listed were Michal Kogama and Legacy Edition Team.
