Bungie has released update 1.0.5 for its extraction shooter Marathon, which became available as part of scheduled maintenance.
The main innovation was the redesigned economic interaction, as well as the expansion of the loot system. Three new perks for implants have appeared in the game, which can only be obtained on the new map — the Cryo Archive:
- Covert Recovery — speeds up self-healing and the use of healing in smoke
- Freeloader — knife kills grant ability energy
- Panic Response — healing at low health temporarily increases mobility
Three new weapon modifiers have also been added:
- Punishment — increased damage against certain enemies
- Testament — bonus to range and aim assist
- Hurricane — improved stability in the air
The developers have made a number of notable gameplay changes. Now players can activate evacuation beacons even when knocked down. Camera shake from melee attacks has been reduced, and the observation time after a run has been increased to 120 seconds. Fixed issues with ability synchronization and incorrect execution of finishers.
Serious edits have affected the Runners themselves. For example:
- The Assassin received a fix for the visual of the smoke screen
- The Thief's drone can no longer rob players during evacuation
- Rook is now available from level zero
The UESC AI faction has also been improved — bugs with enemies freezing and behaving incorrectly have been fixed.
In addition, dozens of bugs have been fixed, including issues with achievements, item display, challenge progress, and network code stability.
