Retroid has prepared some not-so-pleasant news for retro gamers and portable device enthusiasts. It announced that due to ongoing fluctuations in memory prices, production of the RP G2 console is temporarily suspended.
The developers hope to resume production of the G2 in the future. The team promised to do everything possible to make this happen, but the outcome depends on market conditions. At the same time, the RP5 model, which has a similar design, remains on sale.
The changes did not affect it, so it remains an excellent option for those planning to purchase a portable console. The OTA update for G2 is still scheduled for release next week.
In addition, Retroid representatives stated that on March 20, 2026, the price of the RP Classic portable console will be adjusted. The new price will be $149 (12,106 rubles).
