Strauss Zelnick spoke about the scale of the upcoming project from Rockstar studio.
Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick commented on players' concerns about the scale of Grand Theft Auto VI, emphasizing that even with its enormous size, the game will remain accessible to a wide audience.
In an interview with The Game Business, Zelnick stated that the company sees no problem in the fact that adult players with families and responsibilities may not have time to "master" such a large project. According to him, the publisher's portfolio includes games for a wide variety of users — from series like NBA 2K and WWE 2K to more "adult" projects, which include GTA.
Zelnick is also confident that the new installment will attract both young audiences and long-time fans of the series. He noted that lack of experience with previous games — such as Grand Theft Auto V or Grand Theft Auto IV — will not be an obstacle to getting acquainted with GTA 6. According to him, the company expects to involve "every suitable player".
Separately, he addressed older gamers, reminding them that the love for video games does not disappear with age: if a person got hooked on games at 17, then at 40 he can continue to enjoy them.
The release of Grand Theft Auto 6 is still scheduled for November 19 and will take place on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
