SEGA has published the mini-series Yakuza Powered by Nihon Touitsu on its official YouTube channel. The total running time of the three episodes is almost three hours.

The project is timed to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the series and is part of SEGA's anniversary program. The key emphasis is on the cast. The main roles were played by actors from the series "Uniting Japan", who this time transformed into characters from Yakuza / Like a Dragon. Previously, the mini-series was released in Japan on Amazon Prime Video in February 2026, before the release of the remake Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Tides.

The plot is based on the events of the first Yakuza and partially touches on the second part. The main roles were played by Yasukaze Motomiya (Kazuma Kiryu), Yoshiyuki Yamaguchi (Goro Majima), Kazuhiro Nakaya (Akira Nishikiyama) and Kenji Matsuda (Makoto Date). At the same time, Nakaya returns to the image of Nishikiyama, whom he previously voiced in the games of the series, and is also known to fans as the voice of Ichiban Kasuga.

In the comments to the video, users greeted the adaptation warmly and noted that it more accurately conveys the spirit of the original source than the more expensive version from Amazon, released in October 2024.
