HBO continues to build the cast for the third season of The Last of Us.
HBO has confirmed the actresses for the roles of Yara and Lev in the third season of The Last of Us series. According to Deadline, Michelle Mao (Bridgerton) and Keivonn Woodard (Star Wars: The High Republic) have joined the project. Yara and Lev play an important role in Abby's storyline, which will be central to the third season and will show key events from her point of view.
Filming for the third season is expected to begin in the summer of 2026, with the premiere in 2027.
It is not yet known whether the third season will be the last or whether the show will be continued. Showrunner Craig Mazin is considering several options: to end the story with one large-scale season or to divide the finale into two parts. At the same time, HBO does not plan to go beyond the original material, so the adaptation should end in the same way as The Last of Us Part II, on which the second season is based.
