Now another film will open the seventh phase of the MCU.

Marvel Studios has shifted the release of the film "Black Panther 3" by several months. According to insiders, the film will no longer be released in February 2028 and will receive a summer release — presumably July 28.

It was previously assumed that the film would be the first film of the seventh phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as its release was planned just three months after "Avengers: Secret Wars." However, it seems that these plans have changed.

Now the start of the seventh phase is actually postponed to May 5, 2028, when another, not yet announced film should be released. After "Black Panther 3", another release is also scheduled — December 15, 2028.

According to media reports, the postponement is not related to a revision of Marvel's strategy, but to the workload of Ryan Coogler, who is working on a reboot of "The X-Files" for Hulu. Filming of the project is scheduled for May and June 2026. In addition, some of the cast is involved in "Avengers: Secret Wars", which also affects the production time of "Black Panther 3".

It is expected that "Avengers: Secret Wars" will introduce a new character in the role of Black Panther. Rumor has it that it is about T'Challa's grown-up son. Among the candidates for the role is Damson Idris, but there is no official confirmation yet. Denzel Washington's participation is also being discussed, which could be his debut in the MCU.
