Developers from Guerrilla Games have released a patch for Horizon Forbidden West. Now the hit about Aloy officially supports power saving mode on PS5.
The update adds support for "Power Saving Settings." This is a small patch without new content for players who want to limit power consumption while playing. Power saving mode works by partially reducing image quality or FPS, as the game has to "reduce some parameters to consume less electricity." The option can be enabled in the PS5 system settings and used globally or only for selected games.
In practice, this is another signal that Sony is increasingly implementing an energy-saving profile on its console. The update appeared unexpectedly, although official support for the game after release has long been considered complete.
