Goodbye, Lags: Borderlands 4 Developers Fixed the Main Flaw of the Game

Gearbox Entertainment developers finally have reasons to be proud. According to the official announcement, the latest update for Borderlands 4 has improved the overall performance of the PC version by more than 20% compared to the release edition.

When the project was released, players and reviewers loudly complained about the catastrophic optimization. Since then, programmers have rolled up their sleeves, regularly releasing patches. The latest of these, numbered 1.5, brings a breakthrough in the number of frames per second.

The developers published detailed graphs confirming the progress. For example, on an RTX 4080 video card in native resolution, the average number of frames per second increased from 55 to almost 80.

Big changes have also affected stability. Annoying animation lags have been significantly reduced, and the overall rate of crashes and sudden crashes has almost halved. This was achieved through "optimization of shadows and advanced physics."

The Gearbox team emphasizes that they are not going to stop there. The creators promise long-term support and further improvements to finally prove to players that the fourth part of the cult franchise is "a game worthy of every penny spent on it."
