The release date of NTE, an ambitious open-world project inspired by the GTA series, was recently announced. The publisher shared the numbers.
NTE will be released on PS5, PC, and mobile devices on April 29, 2026. Hotta Studio reported that over 30 million users have registered on the game's official website. The hype confirms the interest in the project, which fans have dubbed the "anime version of GTA."
NTE features a Wanted system (police chases), a mechanic for stealing motorcycles and cars from NPCs (here it's called "transport requisitioning"), as well as a prison system where the character ends up for serious crimes, and illegal races. The Chinese developers have combined the scale of a metropolis in the spirit of GTA with elements typical of games like Genshin Impact or Wuthering Waves. The project will be distributed under a free-to-play model with gacha monetization.
As a gift for reaching the 30 million registration mark, Hotta Studio has added a heroine named Haniel to the list of free starting characters.
