Capcom has shared new details about its science fiction action game Pragmata.

Ahead of the launch, journalists gained access to the final previews and demo version of the project. One of the key details that became known from the materials of the Japanese publication 4Gamer was the unusual nature of the game environment.

Although in the trailers the main characters — Hugh and Diana — move through streets resembling New York, in reality it is not a real city. According to the plot, the action takes place in its digital version generated by artificial intelligence.

According to game director Cho Yonghi, the developers deliberately made this "New York" slightly distorted to emphasize its artificial origin. Familiar locations help players navigate faster, but at the same time the surrounding world looks "a little wrong."

Producer Naoto Oyama added that in the game you can see strange anomalies: for example, taxis going underground, or buses literally growing out of the walls. Despite the concept of AI generation, all these details were manually worked out by the developers to create the effect of the "uncanny valley".
