Several insiders have stated that Sadie Sink will indeed play Jean Grey in the movie "Spider-Man: A New Day." After a year of conflicting rumors, this version has once again come to the forefront.
Discussions began back in the spring of 2025 when the actress was cast. At that time, various sources almost immediately linked her to Jean Grey, but Sink herself publicly denied these assumptions. She noted that hair color can always be changed, which only added to the confusion surrounding the project.
Insider Jeff Sneider stated that he is now confident in the accuracy of this information. According to his data, Sink is indeed playing Jean Grey. He had previously reported this but retracted his words amid conflicting rumors. Now, according to him, his confidence is based on data from the later stages of production.
This information is also confirmed by Cryptic HD. According to their data, Jean Grey, played by Sadie Sink, will receive an updated visual interpretation of her abilities with an emphasis on more complex VFX — they will resemble the character's version from the animated series "X-Men '97."
In addition, the character is described as "time-displaced" — it is assumed that the heroine may arrive in the main MCU universe from another period or even an alternate reality. This approach has already been used in comics and allows for the introduction of mutants without direct reference to the current chronology of the cinematic universe.
Marvel Studios has not yet officially confirmed this data. Nevertheless, the coincidences in the messages from different insiders indicate that "A New Day" may become the starting point for the appearance of the "X-Men" in the MCU. This seems logical given that the next phase of the Marvel cinematic universe will be dedicated to mutants.
The premiere of "Spider-Man: A New Day" is scheduled for July 31, 2026.
