It seems Sonic is once again preparing to sprint into the headlines. The Korean ratings board has classified the yet-to-be-announced Sonic Frontiers Definitive Edition, which in practice often means one thing - the official announcement may only be a matter of time.
History shows that similar leaks in the case of Sega series have repeatedly turned out to be harbingers of real publishing plans.
The original Sonic Frontiers was released in November 2022 on all major platforms, reaching sales of over 4.5 million copies and receiving a number of free updates. The release of the "ultimate" version would fit into the current strategy of the franchise, which previously offered extended editions of projects such as Sonic Mania or Sonic Origins.
Now we can only wait for official confirmation and see if the potential final edition will bring new content, technical improvements or changes in the gameplay structure.
The game will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
