Shortly after release, players in Crimson Desert noticed strange paintings that were clearly generated using artificial intelligence.
Pearl Abyss acknowledged the use of AI technologies and also promised to remove AI assets from the game. The developers explained that such content should not have made it into the final version of the game.
After a recent patch, players noticed that the developers had indeed replaced some elements — now the paintings are drawn by people, not created by AI:
