Jack Black continues to strengthen his position in the niche of video game adaptations. His portfolio includes "The Super Mario Bros. Movie," "Borderlands," and "Minecraft in the Movies," as well as participation in future sequels — "Minecraft in the Movies 2" and "Super Mario: Galactic Movie."
Now, in an interview with Ash Crossan from ScreenRant, dedicated to the film "Super Mario: Galactic Movie," the actor admitted that he would like to star in another video game adaptation — this time it's about the Yakuza series from Sega.
According to Black, he is ready to consider any role, although he understands that finding a suitable one will not be easy, since there are practically no characters in the original games that match his type. The actor himself ironically describes himself as a "chubby American."
"So I'll probably try my hand. I don't know if there's a role for me there, like a \"chubby American,\" but get in touch with me. Sega, let me know."
It is not yet clear whether new Yakuza adaptations are planned. Previously, Amazon released the series Like a Dragon: Yakuza, which received mixed reviews. Since then, there has been no information about its continuation or cancellation.
