A Reddit user shared an unusual story of a successful purchase: instead of a regular boxed cooler for AMD processors, he unexpectedly received a full-fledged processor in the package.
According to the author, he ordered a standard AMD cooler online (the specific platform is not specified), but upon unpacking, he found not only the cooling system inside, but also a processor — AMD Ryzen 5 8400F. Apparently, the kit was assembled "by mistake".
The user noted that he cannot yet verify the processor's operability. Outwardly, it looks genuine: the marking on the heat spreader corresponds to the original samples, and the arrangement of components also does not raise suspicions. Previously, fakes of more expensive Ryzen models have already appeared on the market, but in this case, no signs of falsification have been found.
The only defects noticed are small spots on the surface of the processor cover. The contact side is in good condition.
Ryzen 5 8400F is a budget processor based on the Zen 4 architecture with 6 cores and 12 threads. Despite the entry-level, the chip is capable of providing decent performance in games when used with mid-range video cards. At the moment, its cost is about $150 in retail.
