In the five months since its release, the project has failed to attract an audience that could justify its existence.
NetEase Games and Shueisha Games have announced the closure of the mobile tactical RPG unVEIL the world, released in October 2025. The card anime gacha servers will be shut down on May 31, 2026 — seven and a half months after release. Registration of new accounts and in-game purchases have already been disabled since March 31.
Until then, the game can be downloaded and launched, and after the servers are shut down, players will be able to return unused premium currency. Refund requests will be accepted from June 1 to August 31, 2026 via bank transfers or Google accounts.
On Reddit, one user sarcastically remarked that he now understood why many gachas now celebrate not an anniversary, but a six-month anniversary. For every Genshin Impact or Honkai: Star Rail, there are many mobile projects that pass by a wide audience and close in the first year. The luckiest ones last up to two or three years, and only a few cross this threshold.
