NVIDIA App users can already test the capabilities of the DLSS 4.5 package. The main goal of the update is to squeeze the most out of modern monitors with a high refresh rate, especially in demanding projects with path tracing.
The key innovation is the Dynamic Multi Frame Generation module, which works as an "automatic transmission" for the video card. The system smoothly switches frame multipliers depending on the load, adjusting the result to the monitor's refresh rate. This maintains smoothness, saving resources and reducing power consumption.
Owners of GeForce RTX 50 series video cards received an exclusive Multi Frame Generation 6X mode. AI generates five additional frames for each frame rendered in the classic way. The transition from 4X to 6X mode provides a performance increase of up to 35% in 4K. The technology works in conjunction with NVIDIA Reflex, minimizing delays.
Engineers also improved the clarity of the interface and mini-maps, which is also relevant for the RTX 40 series. Support for new features has been confirmed for 20 games:
- Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered
- Dragon Age: The Veilguard
- Outer Worlds 2
- DOOM: The Dark Ages
- Borderlands 4
- Indiana Jones
- God of War Ragnarök
