The real-time strategy game Stormgate, inspired by the Warcraft series, is facing serious issues: developers from Frost Giant Studios have announced the upcoming shutdown of online modes. The reason is the termination of cooperation with the server partner Hathora.
As it turned out, Hathora was acquired by Fireworks AI, after which the service began to curtail its activities. Server capacities will be reallocated to meet the needs of the new owner, which is related to the development of artificial intelligence.
According to the developers, the shutdown of online functions will occur at the end of April. The studio noted that this will lead to a planned multiplayer downtime. At the same time, the game will receive an update that allows it to be launched in offline mode, but network capabilities will become unavailable.
