Some people believe that an $8 indie project should regularly receive free content and have a clear roadmap.

Indie developers from Aggro Crab and Landfall have commented on player criticism of their cooperative game PEAK, which some users have called "lazy" in terms of support and updates.

The official Landfall account stated that PEAK has already received numerous updates, and emphasized that neither Landfall nor Aggro Crab are studios operating under the games-as-a-service model.

Any update is a bonus, not an obligation.

It is worth noting that PEAK costs only about $8, and all released updates (currently three) were distributed for free. Nevertheless, some players remained dissatisfied, pointing out that even inexpensive online projects today often receive long-term support and new content.

The developers responded to this with restraint but firmness: they reminded that they have already added new biomes and features to the game, and plan at least one more update.

Games used to be released without any updates. We've already done much more than was previously accepted.
