The release of Starfield on PS5 is approaching, and a new trailer from Sony sheds light on special features designed to fully unlock the platform's potential. The developers have prepared a number of improvements to make space exploration more immersive.
The focus is on integration with the DualSense controller, which will allow players to literally "feel" the atmosphere of distant planets and the intensity of star battles.
The heart of the PS5 experience will be the advanced use of DualSense capabilities. The trailer confirms support for adaptive triggers, which will provide resistance when firing different types of weapons. The light bar will also dynamically inform about the hero's health, and the controller's built-in speaker will be used to play voice logs. Players will also get quick access to the menu using the touch panel, which will simplify navigation through the inventory and star maps.
Visually, Bethesda has prepared two standard modes. The "Quality" mode will focus on maximum detail, while the "Performance" mode will provide smooth gameplay at a target of 60 frames per second.
Starfield on Sony console will be released on April 7, 2026.
