An insider with the nickname ggonigone, who previously published reliable information about Korean projects, reported that filming of the live-action series based on the anime and webtoon "Solo Leveling" from Netflix may start in early May 2026. According to him, filming will last about three to four months, and the first season will consist of seven episodes.
If these dates are confirmed, the release may take place in late 2027 or early 2028. This forecast is provided by What’s On Netflix, based on the standard post-production cycle for large streaming projects.
It is known that Lee Hae-joon and Kim Byung-so, who worked on the film "Castaway on the Moon", will be the directors. The main role of the hunter Sung Jin-woo will be played by South Korean actor Byun Woo-seok ("Moonshine"). According to Korean media, Han So-hee ("My Name") may also join the project — she is credited with the role of Cha Hae-in, the only S-rank woman in the original story.
Officially, Netflix has not yet commented on either the filming schedule or the release date.
