The creators of the Euro Truck Simulator 2 truck driver simulator have presented a new diary dedicated to the remake of the "Benelux" — Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg.
This time, SCS Software invites players to see the new Amsterdam — the city has been rebuilt from scratch.
One of the challenges for the developers was the design of the A10 Zuid ring road section located south of Amsterdam. In reality, this section is now being moved to an underground tunnel, and the collection of references is carried out at a time when the road was on the surface.
The developers decided to use the materials they managed to collect:
After careful consideration, we decided to leave the highway above ground. This allowed us to use real references, as well as create a unique gaming experience. Gamers will have the opportunity to drive through one of the few places in Europe where highways pass under high-rise buildings... Although it will not be possible to drive through the historical center of the city itself, we have carefully selected locations and viewpoints that we believe best convey the spirit of Amsterdam.
The release date of the Benelux update in Euro Truck Simulator 2 is not yet known.
