The Boys creator Eric Kripke has confirmed that the prequel «Vought Corporation's Dawn» will be released in 2027. However, he cannot name the exact date yet, stating that he "has no idea" when the premiere will take place.
Filming of the series has already been completed, but a large amount of post-production remains. According to Kripke, visual effects alone will take about eight months — he expects to complete this stage by November-December. After that, Amazon will have to localize the project for international release, which will take another couple of months. As a result, the premiere is expected no earlier than spring or summer 2027.
The series will take place in the 1950s and focus on the early years of Soldier Boy, played by Jensen Ackles. Stormfront, played again by Aya Cash, will also appear in the show. The project will tell about the formation of the Vought corporation and show how the system that spawned the perverse world of superheroes was formed.
Despite the fact that the first season has not yet been released, the team is already discussing the continuation. Jensen Ackles previously said that the series will have several seasons, and now Kripke has confirmed his words, adding that showrunner Paul Grellong already has "really exciting and innovative ideas" for the second season.
Amazon hopes to maintain interest in the franchise even after the main series ends. The fifth season of «The Boys» starts on April 8 and will be the final one, but this will not stop the development of the universe. In addition to «Vought Corporation's Dawn», other projects remain in development, including a possible continuation of «Gen V».
